Default FlightMates - a Website for Airline Passengers

I have this website listed on another forum, but I'm really trying to get as much exposure as possible.

URL(s) of site?
http://www.flightmates.com (you get .net too)

It's a website aimed at people who often fly alone. It allows visitors to create accounts for free and enter in the details of any flights they plan to travel on. If the same flight is already found in the database, the two (or more, depending on how many have registered with the same flight) users are able to send each other messages to arrange potential car pooling or just meet for coffee instead of sitting alone in the terminal.

Age of site?
Three months

Approximately monthly page views and/or unique visitors?
This month: 482 uniques, 735 visits, 10592 pages, 16454 hits.

How does the site generate income? How much?
Google Adsense. Not much currently, but the site has potential for better targetted advertising (county-specific) based on user profiles.

Who develops content and administers the site? How much time does it require?
Me. I wrote the site from scratch in PHP. It will pretty much run itself, but the potential expansions (forums, ticket booking, etc) are the things that will take time but benefit the site greatly in the long-run. These are all things I wanted to add myself but haven't been able to due to the situation described further down.

What is the monthly cost of running the site?
Just hosting fees. It's less than $5 a month with my host.

Reason for selling?
I'm selling this website is because I need the money. I originally created the site after having the idea on a train home from work purely because I knew it would be a great idea. I've worked on it entirely myself and I'm pretty proud of it even in it's early stages, but I'm about to loose my full-time job right at the time my fianc? and I are planning on getting our own place. I need money to support us and I feel like this website should be worth something.

Will you help with the transition of the site to the new owner?
Of course. I'll set it up on your host for you, if you like.

What does the site include?
Everything you see. The site has been live only a few months and only has 20 members, but I haven't put much effort into advertising yet.

There is currently no newsletter, but members enter their email addresses when they join so there is potential for one.

Asking price for the site?
I'd like to hear offers, but anything around the $2000 mark would be very helpful.

Thank you for reading

Does the site make any income from other sources?
Sites usually sell for 12 x monthly income

Hi Craig, The site hardly makes any income at all currently. It could use promoting.

Hmm...

If you get virtually no income from it, then I guess it's going to be very difficult to sell for a large price (unless you just happen to find the right buyer)

As you're about to loose your job, then I'd suggest investing some time into growing the site so it will generate some income, you can then either use the income or sell the site as a more viable purchase.
