Default Selling The VirtualBrowser

Well... I don't really want to sell this, but I need a laptop for the coming school year. I've been saving... but it's taking to long So.. the money I earn from the sale will be added to some I've already saved, and I'm going to buy a nice new laptop :P (If I can sell it ). Probably a dell or Toshiba in case you're wondering.... maybe an HP though.

I don't have exact stats as the host it's hosted on doesn't have any stat program. I do know that I'm getting on average 6,000 pageviews per day, and I'm assuming around 2,500 unique visitors per day. I would get more, but host is down a lot... so part of the day it's not accessible. Bandwidth usage is around 50GB per month.

Monthly regular income (from Adsense, and $0.80 CPM Popunders) is about $120 a month, so the standard selling price = 1 year's income would be $1,440. In ADDITION to that, I've earned $60 one month with CPM and PPC graphic banners. And $70 another month, and $90 another month with affiliate programs. So the revenue opportunity is there, you just have to find a program that does well with the site. If I did one of the above every month, on average that would be another $70 a month. So $2,300/year.

I also had $15 in donations when I had a donate button up for a little bit.

URL is http://www.thevirtualbrowser.com, if there is a lot of traffic when you try to access it, it may take a while to load... so just be patient. You get everything, the domain, site, everything.

I had the idea of an ad-free browsing option, where users would pay a subscription fee and be adless. I never got around to doing that though, but if you want to... that could be another source of income.

Payment would be via either Paypal or Personal Check. Probably through Escrow.

Let's start at $600.

I'm working on getting some third-party tracking stats up, and the revenue proof can be found here: http://www.thevirtualbrowser.com/income.htm

Traffic stats so far are at http://extremetracking.com/open?login=thevb -- but since I've just put this up when I listed it for sale, it's not really giving a big picture. Weekends are always a lot less traffic than weekdays as most people using it at school or work are at home and don't need to use it

NOTE: This is posted elsewhere.. so the bid here may not be the current one. I'll post an update occasionally.

Josh

COUGH CGI PROXY COUGH. If I'm right its not woth $200. I'm pretty sure this is cgi proxy although the php extention confused me for a while until I realised that its probably just passing the values to the cgi. The 100110 flags on the end of the url confirmed my suspicion.

Btw, you can't even search google. It sends me back to the first page :P. might want to fix that.

I'm having trouble understanding why this would sell for hundreds of dollars, when I could mod cgi proxy in a few hours.

NOTE: Sorry if this sounds harsh. I'm just really confused, the design looks nice and btw, you probably won't get a response until tomorrow. For some reason theres never anyone on arround now.

EDIT: Ahh, I revisited your website and scrolled down (didn't see content so I didn't bother to scroll down before), and saw this is suposed to be a proxy.

Take a look at the domain name webmastertalk.CO.UK, this generally suggests United Kingdom, your posts were at 3 o'clock in the morning our time. Support calls are the only thing that get dealt with at silly hours like that

Members are not all UK, but do generally seem to be UK, however I was offering an explanation for why there's very little activity during the UK night time period, which was the actual observation made by FrozenDice

Anyway, let's not trash the sales thread with a huge debate about where members live.

Mods,

Randomman seems to want to continue the debate, can you split this thread so we're not trashing Josh's sales pitch.

Thanks
