Default Site needs something...

not quite sure what though!

My problem is my site is pretty static. I will be updating the site on a monthly basis but for various reasons this can't start for a few months. Even then it will only be slight changes each month. So I'm looking for any ideas that would give the site some interest to the SE's.

I am not a web designer so not really sure what is available to me, therefore any suggestions for me to investigate are greatly appreciated. I have noticed a thing called an rss feed? Can anyone point me in the right direction of a dummy's guide to installing this? My understanding is I could have a live feed of news related to my site? Not sure if this is correct so feel free to correct me! Is this news provided from a source site? Do I have to subscribe to a news feed?

thanks in advance to those who offer advice...

You could add RSS, however that's only duplicating someone else's content which generally doesn't add much value to your visitors as if they're interested, they've probably already seen it or subscribed to the source RSS feed anyway.

I use the Joomla RSS to pull in a local weather & local news feed on 1 site, but that's more or a local interest element rather than SE's benefit.

You'll find many examples if you google for it

If you really want the search engines to take notice, then you need real content, well written and with natural spread of keywords.
