| Newbie | Could someone direct me to a good source of instructions. I need to design a website that will have the ability to download files after purchasing the product. Where would be as good source of information that will give instructions on how to create the zip file and where and how to position it in the directory. thank you very much, brad |

| WMT Sponsor | thats easy enough to do without buying a script just simply compress your file for downloading, ie fight click on item and select send to. then on your website simply create a folder in your public directory then use the relevant file path.

| Active Member | I doubt that he just wants to put the file in a directory that anyone can get to. Whats going to stop anyone being given a direct link to download the file so that they don't need to pay any money over? I suspect the poster wants to have the file in a private area of the web site thats password protected and then have a php script create a copy with a unique ID so that only that one purchaser can download the file for the next 24 hours, or can download the file only by using a username and password which is specific to themselves.

| Newbie | thank you guys for the input. Yes, I want to sell on the internet. I need the ability to create a file and sell whats in the folder. It will be a webpage with included images and instructions. The buyer will pay for the product and then download it in a zip file. All of your information is appreciated. thanks, brad |

| Super Moderator | Easiest option would be to password protect the zip, then email the password to the customer on reciept of payment. Alternatively you could perhaps dynamically generate a security key for each customer based on their payment details and get them to input these into a form which then presents the .zip for download.
