Default Mp3 Swap

I have an idea for a new site I'd like to develop called mp3 swap.

My idea is to create a site that users can join and trade mp3's amongst each other. They can set up trade sessions and even trade iTunes codes. Typically it would be an mp3 for an mp3, but some hard to find songs might even be worth 2 regular mp3's. The mp3's would be directly transferred from computer to computer so no ultra hosting would be needed as mp3's would rarely be on the server.

Plase let me know what you think!

Also if anyone knows of any scripts that might work for my project that would be great!

I can provide some 500MB hosting which should be enough for your site, just join www.kewlhosting.org. Do 10 posts and make a request, and then you should have hosting by this afternoon.

The legal implications of this are staggering. The RIAA would be on your ass so fast, even if you were only trading legal songs if one person traded a single copywrited song you'de be screwed. Do you have a plan to filter out copywrited content?

It's decentralized. There is no center for the p2p. Its all seperate computer directly linking to eachother. Peer2Peer have a huge ammount of legal purposes but something central would be easy to shutdown. Bittorrent can't be shutdown because theres no center. Now it doesn't even need a tacker.

If you had some sort of system where you would listen to the song before it was able to be posted that might work, but if your website gets off the ground that'll become very hard and people won't want to wait for approval.
