woodflooristcom is on a distinguished road
Default Boogie Jack is one of my favorites

Boogie Jack not only teaches Html and much more but he adds a bit of humor which also makes it fun.

I'm sure that you all have much more experience than I, and probably know all the best places. But here's the one I've been learning from:

http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/

Truth is, it seems to be written in a way that I can understand it better than some sites I've been to. However, I will most definitely check out what's listed here if I haven't already tried them.

Thank you, everyone, for sharing this. :-)

Here's a site that has been around for ever. It will learn you some good basic design principles including resolution and colour.

www.wpdfd.com

Unfortunately the guy has retired now

Ahhh the good old days!

I found that http://lissaexplains.com is very helpful. This is where I started HTML. It's for kids mainly, but you can get a lot out of it if you are a beginner. Pretty nice site.
