Default Video Format?

I've got access to some videos that I can put on a site, but the choice of media is:
  • windows media
  • quicktime
  • real player

I'm not sure which one is more popular with end users.

Any ideas?

Depends on the audience...

My thoughts would be :

The vast majority of surfers are non techie, the "normal person" is running XP or Vista so Windows Media is there by default.

Quicktime gets "bundled" with iTunes so quite a large "audience", also will be there for your typical Mac zealot

Real player is a odd one its a bit too "adware"...

we'll it depends, like what Briask have said there is a large audience using Quicktime.
IMO, user likes it fast, what if don't have Quicktime?... use .FLV(Flash Video)...

I will go on the quicktime. Briask is right, Apple Quicktime has connection on iTunes and you can expect large traffic.

It may be an alternative because many users are using .flv extension file and the most popular of them is YouTube.
