| Newbie | Ok, after getting the database and appearance of your site ready... You already have your entire databse ready to handle the traffic, and ready to send out auto responders for those asking for your newsletter etc... Then what? What do I fill my website with? How do I make my website something people return to day after day and they tell their friends about it as well? What content will my customer be looking for? How to I make the content powerful, fun and enjoyable enough that people will contantly be on my site? We all know that a catchy domain name isn't enough, and I have been personally struggling with some of those questions... Here is some things that I have run into that have helped me and of course any other suggestions are completely welcomed and incouraged. -News Feeds! Find websites or companies that offer you nonstop updated and cutting edge information about things related to your website. Put those News Feed in an attractive location, and have your site just check the news feeds every few minutes for an update, and auto update your site to the newest news flash. This is a very easy and effective way to keep new content pouring in every day. -Advertisment Ok, this subject is really easy here. Make sure you are advertising products/services aligned with your website on your website. Advertise for your competitors (just ask for a comission for their new customers) Competitors will turn into powerfull allys especially if you write something positive about them on your site, tell them and their will almost always add links to that article on your site! Well, My Time is short right now, so let's open this thread for discussion on Content for our websites. I look forward to hearing from all of you, and getting any advice you have for me or anyone else on this forum. _____________ Daniel S. daniel@promas.us http://www.FortuneTrove.com -- My business http:// (Coming Soon) -- New website which I am pumping up with content right now |

| Moderator | Hi Daniel The 2 methods you mentioned, news feeds and advertisements, are ok but they do one thing you don't want; lead people AWAY from your site! I'd stick to adding content that deals with every issue of your site focus, such as articles, reviews and things to add interactivity for users. What is your site about? This will help me help you more! Kind Regards, Craig |
