Mailing List sign-up help...

I am about to start a marketing project and want to offer people the opportunity to sign-up to my mailing list. Basically part of the marketing is flyers and on these flyers will be a web address for people to go to and sign up for special offers etc.

Can anyone advise how I would go about this? I think I would need only a 'name' and 'email address' entry on the form with a submit button. I'm new to web design and my only experiences are through my own website so if anyone could point me in the direction of a tutorial I would appreciate it.

On reading other posts etc on the web I presume I need some sort of script to send the information to a database of some sort? Does this script get placed in the 'submit' button? I am using dreamweaver.

ditch dreamweaver and write yourself some PHP code, capture the data from an HTML form, validate it and add it to a database, alternatively look for a mailing list package like MailMan, you should be able to customise the signup page and have all the back end work done for you.
