logo design

I figured since lewis has posted so many threads here for small stuff (no offense) that I would post asking for help on creating a logo for my site where I'll be offering some web services: SEO, custom coding, site design, logo design etc.

I've only recently got back from a 2 week vacation and this is what I had time to whip up in a new program I got called inkscape(a completely new interface).

This is just a quick draft but feedback would be very welcome. The idea was two calligraphy pens because I usually draw all my designs out on paper before they get onto the computer which some say is old fashioned.

i think it looks good, but maybe you should add some writing to it like the name of the site

Well the logo is going to be small. I was going to put the name of the site next to it if I used it in a banner. But like logos for a good portion of businesses they don't have the name in the logo.

then why not make the calligraphy in the shape of the intials of the website, so it doesn't look like just 3 interlocking shapes

Well this is a logo not a banner. There are lots of businesses that have logos with no name directly on it. I've found that when you add text to a logo it ends up overpowering it. I'll end up focusing more on the typography(my favorite part) than the actual design.
