large banner?

this is a question mainly aimed at wistow, but, how did you get that banner so big at the top? did you have to add some code to the template header? or is it just one large banner?

like on a lot of forums i think he just edited the background colour to the same as the banner colour

edit: just checked, only the left half is an image

In the table cell he put the image and as a background he put the same colour as the background of the image and put the cell width to 100%
