You can setup a merchant account with the bank, as you will need a business account aswell for any funds to be transferred to.

This is more costly than paypal though.

Your only options really are PayPal & NOCHEX for low volume payments or WorldPay etc... (or a full merchant account) if you have sufficient volume. Most merchant accounts have a monthly fee though, so you'd need to have a decent volume in order to make the jump from PayPal/NOCHEX.

If you signup with NOCHEX, then you can register as a buisness and accept payment without requiring signup, this looks a bit more professional.

If you're dealing with business, then you'll want to accept good old fashioned cheque, perhaps direct bank transfer.

Give your sort code & account number to your client, they'll then transfer from their account to yours.

If you have a business bank account, then you can probably also setup a direct debit.

Stay away from setting up an merchant account with a credit card, they charge a certian percent of your sales. Is that going to be your website, nano something?
