When linking exchanging with another website, do you bother with checking their PR?

Afterall PR isn't anything special anymore, but its still nice to have a high PR.

I would recommend avoid direct link exchange. That might be very dangerous for you and you might lost your time.

Certainly, before you start exchanging links with another site , you must check its page rank. If that site has low page rank, your site will be less accessible for people.

I think It depends on your link trade , if it has good reputation on the net, either your PR will boost up or it will drgeed you down,

In exchanging links, you must not only focus on the page rank of the link page, but also on its quality content, its backlinks, and it's recently cached.

i think it's better to have a partner that a higher PR than you...

so that your site can increase its traffic :P
