Default cPanel/PHP coding?

Hi,

Say some wanted to code something for cPanel,
would I need the file in the top root directory?

or I can leave in my directory since I'm on a shared hosting plan.

well, you'd want to put the files in the public_html folder, so if you were to click file manager in cpanel, then click the folder public_html and upload your files there.

Shwaza, he doesn't want to upload files, he wants to code something into the cpanel... Like a feature.

I doubt you can do this, it's not open-source, and I doubt that you'll be able to implement anything...

If you're on a shared hosting plan, then you'll not be able to re-code cPanel, you need root access to write into the theme directories.

Oh, that title was confusing then, because cpanel isn't in php.

You can code cPanel themes with PHP though. The CpanelXP theme we use has PHP code, I guess others may do as well.
