Your best promotion methods

Hi

Apart from Search Engines, what have you found to be the best methods in attracting traffic to your website?

I utilize my own websites mainly, as I own 2 large traffic exchanges, a banner exchange and a few forums.

Let us all know what your best methods are!

traffic exchages because they are mostly free! and that makes a loads of traffic and it costs me nothing!

I dont know most of my traffic comes from forumns I post in but I also get traffic from affiliate sites that have put my link

I use banner exchanges, reciprocal links, forums (I now have people adding my link on forums I don't belong to when a wood floor question arises), All Search Engines, My guestbook, images, (Google has a separate section just for images), blogs, both auto and manual traffic exchanges, Lotteries, Offline advertising, T-Shirts, My truck is lettered with my domain name, business cards, Picture pages, word of mouth, satisfied customer referrals, and postcards.

I am finding people are adding my link to webpages just because it ranks well in the Search engines. My urls ends up places i have never heard of.

Being on a VERY low budget, I have to rely on the free stuff. Traffic Exchanges are good for me. I send some safelist mail occasionally, but you all know what that yields most of the time. :? In the days when Spam was something (awful) to eat, I used to send quite a bit of email, but not any more. My new webletter "Web-Currents," has started to attract a lot of subscribers, so I have been "pushing" my site there as well.

To lift your position in the se rankings you could use linkdumpers like
http://www.linkdumps.com/
As your links are shown on 1000s of ranks, you get hits and when these pages are spidered, your rankings go up.

Try attaching a blog with an integrated RSS feed, go to article directory sites and post free tutorials containing your URL, forum signatures, viral marketing, link exchanges, co-op network, good seo to rank high in the search engines - pick the one(s) that suit your site
