Default Two deals to choose from...

Help! I was asked to help to find a dedicated server, and here is what I have

HQhost.net:
Pentium 4 631 3.00GHz
1GB KIT DDR2
2x 80Gb SATA II
100 Mbs
2000 GB bandwidth
for 199 dollars

or
Ahosting.biz
Intel Pentium IV 2.8Ghz
512MB DDR Ram
Single 80GB 7200RPM IDE HDD
1200GB Premium Bandwidth
for 125 Dollars

What would you choose? A little more but expensive or a little less but cheap?

Perhaps if you gave us the criteria then we can advise.

You can't compare like for like as they are different spec.

Also, given that this is a UK forum, why not consider UK servers?

Why did you narrow it down to these 2 companies, what was wrong with the others?

Why have you chosen these two companies?

Well I know both companies and both are pretty reliable... hqhost.net has unmanaged deals, and thus you will need to manage it yourself or spend more money... But still this is a stable company...

Ahosting.biz - has both managed and unmanaged solutions... And they are more expensive... Actual;ly this is very hard choise - between those hosts. I guess you should flip a coin)))

IMO - Ahosting.biz is more experienced, loger time in business/

Actually the OP may have much better dedi offers from say rackspace.com, globaltap.com and hostgator.com.
Think you may choose the right one dedi for yourself at competitive price.

Those are good. I know both companies to be really stable and longstanding hosts, so the comparison is appropriate.

Except for those, I recommedn you to look up webhostingbuzz.com, because they offer you to select the specs for a dediated server and it would be priced correspondingly to your demand. The obvious price forming will make it easier to decide if they are better.

Please refer to Hosting Forum - What It is - what it isn't

You give no review or confirmation of your findings or choice of company.

To OP,
You know, it depends on the content you are going to host, traffic you are going to have and of course, on the company and your budget. I have heard about hqhost.net only positive things. So, I advise you to deal with them.

As for me, dedicated server offers from ahosting.biz seem to be more better than the second one company has. They exclusively use the Linux (CentOS) operating system on our servers. Linux is one of the most popular server operating systems in the industry nowadays. One more impotant fact is that all packages are fully featured.
