Speed in relation to what? How quickly pages load? How fast the connection is to the server?
where can I check my server speed? I wish to learn more. but i dont know where to get it.

Webhostingstuff.com has some statistics of monitored hosts. I've go to know about MMhosting.com from them, and I suppose they have such stats for everyc opmpany reviewed there.
Pingdom Web site monitoring for 100% uptime. Measure your downtime. is probably one of the more popular services
I would like to know what is your attitude to a server monitoring features that some companies offers (1and1.com, innohosting.com, etc.)?
Do they provide true-to-life info?
If you are using monitoring to prove uptime to potential new customers, then you want an independant monitoring service, not your server provider.
