Default XP Pro user

Another XP pro user.

Sure having fun with the appcompat.txt thing.
It somehow interferes with (I think) the
Explorer file ntdll.dll which reports hung apps
to Microsoft. (I think)

The result is that my control panel becomes
a hung app and shuts down.
Until I can fix this problem I have no control
panel access.

Checking the Microsoft website only results
in their admitting there could be a problem
and they have no cure at present.
Anyone have an idea on how to cure this?

Thanks robertall, I'll check it out.

I had installed the dreaded service pack 2, and when it affected some of my programs, I ran uninstall through the control panel. I still had access at that time.

It is quite possible that one or more files remain in the registry.

I have used w2k more than year ago, but now I'm proud Debian user, it's ran much more stable than any windows I've tried and it best of all it has no viruses which seems to plague windows last year.

Windows Xp Pro enhanced

The enhancements are nothing special, just a few inpruvements that were made in order to keep windows from losing information.
The enhaced version is not sold and it is not a new version at all.I just found about 60 different enhancements and put them into the system.
