Are you connected to broadband by USB or Ethernet ?

If you use Ethernet, then you'll not (usually) need any drivers and you can simply set your DHCP client, grab your IP address and away you go.

Best bet, however is to get a broadband router/firewall and connect your Ethernet to the router.

If your ISP has a Linux USB driver, then I'd go to them for support.

Google

or your Linux distribution's FAQ / Download site

or get an Ethernet modem (much better solution, why do it in software when hardware is so cheap these days)
