Transparent PNG

i made a png.when i open it in fireworks it hase the transparent bit in grey and white chechers.but when i put it in a webpage the transparent part look a bit greyish. what is my problem

That you're using internet explorer You'll see that transparent backgrounded pngs only are transparent in something other than IE, which is kind of stupid, but just blame it on microsoft.

but it used to be fine on ie. have i changes any of thye settings without realising?

Installed any windows updates recently? Could be because of that but i agree with shwaza. Ditch IE, Firefox is the way to go.

How Do I make transparent pics in photoshop?
I try to save them as png, but still don't get it work =\

there is an option in photoshop when saving png to select transparency. but u must have the checked bg to indicate transpaeranycy
