Good Sources of Stock Icons?

Can anyone recommend any good sources of stock icons?

istockphoto normally has some for about 10quid

They don't release them as individual files - you can get an Illustrator style contact sheet which is worse than useless

Ah ... point taken .. you just want an end product you can bung in somewhere ...

Hmm... Installed inkscape yet ?

They normally have a high res JPEG with the icons as well ... but again by the time you spend 1 - 2 hours extracting resizing and so on ... it gets quite expensive in terms of your time.

I'm curious if you can guarantee the sources of the icons there and them being freely usable on your own sites ?

No sir! I can't guarantee anything on deviantart, but if you see anything you're interested in then you can check the usage terms.

Since a client received a letter demanding 2K for images they had supplied me with ... I just tend to worry about these kinda things

At least if I've a purchase receipt or I've made the icons myself I've got some come back
