    hey,

    does anyone know of any good free Gif animation programs that they would reccomend?
    i am looking for one and i have googled it and cant find any.

    freeserif.com has old version of Serif products, photoplus will do animations which can be saved as .GIF's

    Use gimp. Its simple to make gif animations in it. Plus you get the quality of an almost photoshop equivelant.

    Just make your first layer(first frame), then hit duplicate in the layers section then make changes to the new layer as you want. Every layer is a new frame. plays from bottom up. Then just save as a .gif anf follow the questions.

    If you can't get in with The Gimp, then google for gimpshop, this is a more Windows friendly port of the base Gimp code.

    Gimpshop was strange. I checked it out about 3 months ago when it was on slashdot but I couldn't find anything different besides that it had all the windoes stuck together. I couldn't find these new menus etc.
