Would you use a new search engine?

Hi

Yet another poll!

How would you feel about using another search engine, if one were developed?
I'm talking along the lines of Millions of Dollars in investment into the design and development of a large scale search engine, on par with the latest revamp of MSN.com?

Would you use it? Or do you feel too 'attached' to the current search engine you use, whether it be Google, MSN, Ask.com etc

Sure I use all Search Engines I can find. I guess you need to define "use". Let me know when you have it finished Craig

well i would maybe use it if it had a simple name like google and simple interface like google. Though to get enough people to use it one would have to come up with something revolutionary, because google is trying to do a few things well, yahoo is trying to do everything average so to break into the market one would have to do everything awesome.

I'm curious why you say Google is "trying" to do a few things well. Google IS doing a few things well.

Yahoo IS doing everything average.

I may consider any other search engine if it provides more relevant results or if it caters to a specific thing.

I would try it, there are loads of small search engines that cannot grow without nation television ad's

it's all depends from what results it would deliver(I guess creator of the poll missed this option

), but right now I feel myself pretty comfortable with Google and Yahoo

I would use it if it would suggest where to get answers for questions. Has anybody tried the Google suggest tool. It is quite good at helping you find answers and the right places to look. Saves a lot of search time. You can try it here, I really like it.

They do seem to be coming up with new stuff all the time.

Hi Erma! suggest tool is really good thing, I'm using it myself for some time, I also like Personalized search it also saves me some time during searching.

I would probably use a new one every once in a while. If I can not find something on google I search yahoo or sometimes MSN. But if I got use to more I'd use them. The only reason I prefer google over yahoo is because there main page has to much stuff on it. I like how google is plain and simple and gets straight to the point - searching.
