New Banner/Latest Posts Bar

Hi

As you will probably have noticed, I have added a new bar at the top of each page on the forum. This bar includes the last 3 posts made on the forum, and a 468x60 pixel banner ad.

The banner ad is served using our own in-house ad server, and banner space is available for purchase. More Info...

The latest posts are served using a php script written by myself, and are updated dynamically every time a new page is loaded/refreshed.

P.S. I know when this forum was started I said I would not be adding banner space, but I have decided to re-think this decision as the revenue collected from selling banner impressions will allow this forum to stay open.

Nice work.
But please o please dont turn this into one of those forums cluttered with advertisements. I understand you need money and all and a couple of banners are ok. Just not too many.

Hi,

Personally, I'd rather see the banner in the top right as this is free space and do away with the latest posts as you get the new posts via the "New Posts" link anyway

They are custom coded by myself

(Well, the adserver is PhpAdsNew with a few "additions"

Nice coding then! Its much better to look up at the page instead of going to the homepage; scroll down and then look for the new posts.

I like the new banner with the recent posts...nice coding!

I don't think the ad at the top is bad...there's only one ad banner on this site so it's pretty good

Remember everytime you update vB you have to redo all the hacks` !
