Default getting into domaining... (a bit)

So if I want to go ahead and register a number of domains .com's who would be the cheapest / most reliable to go with. Its more to just park the domains than to really do anything with them (at the moment at least)

Cheap + reliable probably don't go hand in hand

What kind of volumes are you interested in?

    Which TLDs? (extensions)

If you want to register quite a number, then why not get a domain reseller account?

Cheapest defo isn't always the best, especially in large cases like GoDaddy

Don't know if it's true, but I heard a couple of years ago about a story of a man who used to be one of those domain resellers, back when domains were few and far between and whois didn't exist.

His girlfriend used to register all the domain names. Granted, they were expensive at the time, but what he used to do was; he would go to a company, tell them he knew of someone who had a TLD registered, the TLD being the companies' name. He would say that the domain was selling for so much, but he could get a large discount.

When the company agreed to buy the domain, she would then register it, and he would hand it over. Between the two of them, they made a bomb. Perhaps a path that you could explore Forbairt :p

I can see how this may have been a good idea and wthe way that it was carried out was fairly smart. Although, i am guessing that if you was to be found doing this, nowadays. You may start to have larger companies come looking for you.

They do not like being tricked and it seems to me that the ^^^above^^^ is trickery.

    Best Luck,

Actually small enough volumes ... what I would like to do is potentially be able to sell them on handily enough.

Main extensions would be the .com's ... (there are a few I want that are still available)

Hmmm probably cus I'm a bit unsure of what that is and I think the numbers of domains I want to get might be a bit on the low side .. 20 - 50

I've heard stories like this before and I think I even know of irish companies that did it in the past. Sort of Galway B&B .com for sale ... then approach various places trying to find the highest bidder.

Not quite what you're on about but similar. I think there was even a thread about domains for sale that the company doesn't own over on IWF.

So you're interested in registering new domains and then flipping them at a profit?

ish ... potentially throwing on a quick Wordpress template ... and doing a bit of seo with them and maybe holding them for 8 months + to generate some interest in them.

(All just thinking out loud at the moment)

That should pay for a enom account easily enough. Remember that with a decent reseller account you only have to put an upfront deposit into the account, not pay for the actual reseller account.
