Why .com is the most preferable?

Would you tell me why .com extension is the most preferable one?

It seems to me that .com extension is google friendly. It is the most reputable extension in the world. Most of the people prefer .com extension.

yes as above, it is very recognised worldwide and gives a certain credibility to your comapany. It is also favoured in google and easy to remember.

And what about .mobi extension? How do find it?

.mobi extension seems to be attractive too.
But I prefer .com, .net and .eu extensions.
.com extension is the most popular nowadays.

.mobi - there are some really cool dotMobi sites out there

.eu - Anyone got any examples of good ones? ie. active sites

I also like .mobi extension. I even register it for one of my sites, as it seems to me that I should differentiate my sites somehow.
