I think the AJAX is probably not really needed, however anything that gives your site that slight edge can't be bad and you want your users to have the best possible experince so they come back. The short display of Loading... is a nice touch to enchance the user experience. I've recently coded an AJAX based page on a reporting system and incorporated a JavaScript based content cache so that it only does 1 trip to the server for each content fetch regardless of how many times the user view's the external content.
You still have spelling errors (not that I'm perfect) which ideally shouldn't be on a magazine site. As you have links to the site from other forums, I'd strongly suggest spending a bit of time just getting the content clean & tidy with spelling & grammar correct. |
